Out of the Woods

out-of-the-woods-2

Coming in November of 2016

A saved life leads to a new way to live. Evan, an outfitter who leads hunting and hiking expeditions, meets Macy in the most extraordinary way. This chance encounter causes Evan to consider the unthinkable –
coming out of the woods.

This will be a mini-series of sorts with four days of story posting. Beginning November 7th, Part One of this story will be available to read. The next three days to follow will allow you to follow along with Evan’s and Macy’s story.

Now for your thoughts:
In today’s fast-paced world, many revert to short stories since they find less time to read. What are your thoughts on short stories? Any preferred length? I would love for you to share below.

  1. I tend to stay away from short stories when I am looking for a new book. I’d rather have time to “get-to-know” the characters and their stories and don’t like how short stories rush that process. I’m a voracious reader, so I don’t mind diving into bigger novels; especially if I know that it will be worth my time! So to answer your question about book length, I don’t tend to download ones that are under 200 pages, and prefer the ones that have 300 or above. I can’t wait to read your newest publication, Lisa! You always grab me from the beginning and keep me hanging on until the very end!

    1. I’m with you, Corina. I like getting into deep and twisting stories, one where I can development an attachment to the characters.

I’m not sure the length of the final outcome of Out of the Woods since it’s still a work in progress. This will at least be a way for my readers to stay engaged with me while I’m working through some new publishing issues that will delay the release of a new book.

Thanks for your comments here. As wildly popular as short stories are, some of us still want to take the longer journey.

      Blessings to you,
      Lisa

  2. Short stories are fine but I enjoy longer stories better. I have read all your books. I find i get so emotionally invested with all your characters that when i reach the end it breaks my heart. And in every book, I find the Lord is speaking to me.
The Lord has surely blessed you with touching people’s hearts with the written word.

  3. I loved On 4/19, Beyond 4/20, Unmending the Veil and Deceiver!!! I’ve been waiting patiently for something new form Lisa. I usually prefer a longer story, complete with twists and turns, but I’ll take whatever I can get, I’m desperate at this point 🙂

Will the short stories always be available or will they go off the website after the last day?

    1. What a great comment! Thanks for the encouragement. I plan to leave it up. I am still in a holding pattern regarding a new release. Thanks for sticking with me during this time of indecision.

      Blessings to you,
      Lisa

  4. Sounds great. I’d love to receive the short stories. I have read 3 of your books and really enjoyed them. Can’t wait to read these stories as well.
